Stunning, Inspiring, Spectacular and Real!
NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope delivers breathtaking views of the cosmos, forever altering our understanding of space and our place in it. Now you can join this great journey of celestial exploration as never before.
"ViewSpace" is a computer display in the lobby of Mueller Planetarium. It runs continuously throughout the day. You can watch "ViewSpace" any time the Museum is open. "ViewSpace" displays short 7 to 10 minute features about various Astronomy and Space topics - especially showing photos and data taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. It portrays the beauty and power of the universe and gently guides the viewer to a deeper understanding of astronomy through lucid, well-paced exposition. With a direct connection between our computer and one at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STSI), "ViewSpace" also runs "Hubble Updates." Whenever new photos and information are released from STSI, they appear right away on the screen. The short features run for about an hour before they repeat, while the last month's worth of updates show up more frequently in-between features. These are all displayed on the monitor in the planetarium lobby. The only charge to see "ViewSpace" is the admission into the Museum. Drop by any time. "ViewSpace" will continue to update regularly. |
